Reviews:
Readers have particularly enjoyed the slow-burn chemistry between Lilith and Zahariev, with many praising their tension, banter and the way their relationship gradually develops. The dark atmosphere, strong heroine, found-family elements and intriguing fantasy world have also been popular with readers. Some reviewers have felt that the world-building and magic system could have been developed further, while others found the pacing a little slow at times. The romance does eventually become quite steamy, making this a good choice for readers who enjoy a darker romantasy with a strong build-up of romantic tension rather than constant spice throughout.
